Family Road Trip ~ California Academy of Sciences ~ What An Amazing Museum!

Today I am sharing pictures from our road trip...taken at the California Academy of Sciences.  What an amazing museum! We saw a show in the Planetarium about Earthquakes. (The show is included in the admission to get into the museum too.) Tip: You want to go get your tickets for the show as soon as you get in to the museum since it's first-come, first-served. After the show we went to the room where they simulate an earthquake. This room was a big hit with my children...which I find a little funny since we've had a few earthquakes (we live in San Diego) that my children have felt. I guess it's more fun when you pay to have an earthquake. They also have a living roof, a rainforest dome (which is 3 stories tall), and an aquarium (which was more amazing then the one in Long Beach). If you are in San Francisco you'll want to put this museum on your list of places to see! You won't be disappointed! At least my family and I loved it. Ps. I am not getting paid to say this either. :)

(Ps. This handsome guy is my hubby!)

Road Trip ~ Golden Gate Bridge, Lombard Street, Japantown, and Alcratraz!

Today I am sharing pictures from our road trip...taken when we were going back and forth over the Golden Gate Bridge, going down Lombard Street (the crookedest street in the world ~which we went down 2 different days), stopping at Japantown, and seeing Alcratraz. What I didn't know about Alcratraz is...you have to buy tickets far in advance if you want to visit it. They were sold out for a whole week. So, the picture you're going to see is...us in San Francisco looking at Alcratraz...from far away. My son was really bummed out. I say it just gives us a reason to visit SF again. Anyway, enjoy todays pictures!

Family Road Trip ~ Solvang ~ Such A Cute Town!

I know I usually post a video on Tuesday(s) but this week I am just going to post all about our family road trip we just took. So, after we left Long Beach we stayed overnight in Oxnard. I didn't take any pictures there since it was really just a stop pit for the night and aside from the nice hotel (Grandstay in Oxnard) we didn't do much there besides eat and sleep. Our next stop was Solvang. We walked around, shopped, and ate. (Some of my favorite things to do!) I didn't take too many pictures of the area there either because we've been there before and I took a bunch then (it hasn't really changed much over the years). This time we took mostly pictures of my children...which I won't post on the internet. So, for today you'll only get to see two photos of Solvang...and the link...but check back here tomorrow I have a bunch to share. :)

Took A Family Road Trip ~ First Stop Along The Way!

I thought today I'd share a few photos from our family road trip. We took 2 days and rode up to San Francisco spent 4 full days in Mill Valley / San Francisco area, and then took 2 days to drive back to San Diego. We had a fabulous time! On the ride up we went up Hwy 101, and then on the ride home we took Hwy 1. We made a bunch of stops each way and saw a ton of beautiful views (beautiful doesn't even cover the views we saw!). Every time I think about how expensive it is to live in California...I think there really isn't any other place I'd rather be. Not to say that there isn't any other nice places...because there are a ton of great places. I just love California weather...and the ocean.

So, todays photos are from the Long Beach Aquarium "Aquarium Of The Pacific". This was the first place we stopped at along the way. We spent a few hours checking out the Aquarium. I'm only going to post a few photos...as a scrapbooker I took way too many to post all of them! Let's just say we had to buy a 4th chip so I'd have enough space for all my pictures. :) Hope you enjoy them! I know my family and I had a great time making the memories together and I can't wait to scrapbook all of them. I do plan to use Studio J for a bunch of them so I can have them scrapbooked...before we go next year on another trip.

Quote Book ~ Quotes To Add To Your Book ~ Vincent Van Gogh

I thought I would do the quotes today to add to your quote book...

~"I experience a period of frightening clarity in those moments when nature is so beautiful. I am no longer sure of myself, and the paintings appear as in a dream."

~"The way to know life is to love many things."

~"If you truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere."
~"One must work and dare if one really wants to live."

~"Love always brings difficulties, that is true, but the good side of it is that it gives energy."

I thought I would share some "Vincent Van Gogh" quotes today. I thought it would be nice to mix-it- up some with the quotes. Anyway, don't forget to stop back again for more quotes next week...and I wanted to add...no idea who or where I got these quotes...I've been saving them to use for my scrapbook pages / cards. So enjoy the quotes!

Victory Paper Pack ~ Check Out The Box For A Great Idea!

I thought I would share a photo to give you some more ideas on what you can make with the "Victory" paper pack. The box could hold a few special treasures or some cards...so you'll be ahead of the game when you need a card to give out. This is such a manly paper pack...which is nice...since so many paper packs are very girly. It would be great if you have camping, fishing, or even hunting pictures and need paper to go with for the layouts.
